Are Kōaka products suitable to use on children?
There is nothing in our products that would be of concern for children. However, when using any new product, we always recommend conducting a patch test. If no reaction occurs, you can assume the product is suitable for that person or child.
Is hemp seed oil suitable to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Hemp seed oil contains no known properties that could be harmful to mum or baby. Before using any of our products speak to your healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Are Kōaka products suitable to use on sensitive skin?
Our products are crafted using the most natural ingredients possible. For most people with sensitive skin there should be no problem. However, when using any new product, we always recommend conducting a patch test.
Can Kōaka help with my very dry skin?
Hemp Seed Oil is very hydrating and is a known humectant, meaning it draws moisture into the skin. Using Kōaka Moisturising Serum can keep skin hydrated and feeling healthy.
Are Kōaka products made from cannabis?
Kōaka uses organic, New Zealand Hemp Seed Oil as the base of all our products. To do this, we harvest the hemp plants, shake down for the seeds and then cold press the seeds to extract high quality, nutrient dense, unrefined hemp seed oil.
Are Kōaka products suitable for vegans?
We are happy to say that all of our products are cruelty free and not tested on animals. Look for the VEGAN symbol to identify which products are suitable for vegans. The only products that are not vegan is the Skin Rescue Balm and Lip Soother, as these contain locally and responsibly sourced bee’s wax.
If I use these products could I fail a drug test?
No. Typical marijuana drug tests measure the amount of THC present within a person's body. Kōaka’s products are made using Hemp Seed Oil. We can batch test our Hemp Seed Oil and can provide an assurance that these products would not cause failure of a drug test.
What is hemp?
Hemp is a member of the Cannabis Sativa plant species, meaning it looks like marijuana, however hemp is tall and slender, contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight and is grown outside for it’s many industrial uses and environmental benefits.
